This is a drawing of my Calico cat named Callie. She is one of the three cats that we bought from our local shelter. ♥ It was done using mostly Prismacolor pencils, and a few Derwent Coloursoft pencils. I used lavender Mi Tienes paper. This is a photograph of the actual picture so it looks better in person, but this is the best shot of it that I could get.
The clarity and colors in this particular piece grabbed my eye. The textures are done nicely in the hair and the eyes are reflecting enough to look realistic.
My favorite thing beyond the colors is the texture within the whole piece but also the simplistic background. There are no distractions, the subject is detailed enough and is interesting with all the different strokes of color.
I also love the perspective and the softness in which this was done. Yes, it is clear and details but things like the toes and the ears look like you could reach out and touch them. They actually look soft and velvety to me.
The only part that seems to not sit right with me is the nose. I feel like its missing some texture.
